Tabby cat love

A lovely commission came my way for two perfectly amazing tabby cats,one longhair, Sydney, and one shorthair Violet. I did the commission of the two in oil. Vivas Las Gatitas Guapitas, (the beautiful little girls,) 16x20 on pane
Both these cats are rescue cats who landed in heaven.





After the commission I just had to do this pastel of Violet with Her Tail Toy, one of my most successful feline pieces because I manged by some grace to capture her perfectly blissful state of love and relaxation. She is truly a fur angel, and it was such fun to do this. I've often tried this sun and shade light, and it's very diffiucult, this is my best effort to date, it needs total control of values to work, there are rich darks in this that don't show up well in the photo, which sort of mashes them all together in the background.
